Volleyball Recap: Shelton Gaels vs. Amity Regional Spartans

Shelton lost against Amity Regional back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Shelton Gaels fell just short of the Amity Regional Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Gaels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Shelton sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 16-25, 25-12, 23-25, 15-6.

Defeat or not, Shelton got some senior leadership from Arianna Suarez Moura and Jordan Tou. Suarez Moura had 16 digs, two aces, and a kill, while Tou had 11 digs and two aces. Tou is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Even though they lost, Shelton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last seven matchups.

Lily Simons was nothing short of spectacular for Amity Regional: she had 23 digs and two aces.
