Basketball Game Preview: Nooksack Valley Pioneers vs. Burlington-Edison Tigers

Nooksack Valley is 2-8 against Burlington-Edison since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Nooksack Valley Pioneers will host the Burlington-Edison Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Nooksack Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Burlington-Edison likes a good challenge.

Nooksack Valley will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Sehome, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Nooksack Valley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 victory over Sehome on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last seven matchups, Burlington-Edison finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against Anacortes, falling 48-23. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Burlington-Edison's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Nooksack Valley, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Nooksack Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Burlington-Edison in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 56-46. Does Nooksack Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burlington-Edison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
