Softball Recap: Nogales Wins Going Away Against Peoria

Nogales posted their biggest win since March 22, 2024 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over the Peoria Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Apaches.

Ximena Barnett was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Nevali Mendoza was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Nogales always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peoria only posted an OBP of .364.

Nogales' victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Peoria, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Nogales has already played their next matchup, a 15-13 win against Odyssey Institute on the 1st. As for Peoria, they will face off against Bradshaw Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
