Baseball Recap: Camarillo Victorious

Camarillo won the last time they faced Valencia and things went their way on Saturday too. The Scorpions came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 5-1.

Luc Ross looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Camarillo: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one hit, but 7-13 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lincoln Hamm, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Hiji, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Camarillo's victory bumped their record up to 11-15. As for Valencia, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Camarillo will take on Moorpark at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Musketeers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Scorpions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valencia, they are taking a road trip to take on Maranatha at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
