Volleyball Recap: Berrien Springs' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Berrien Springs took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Lakeshore, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Shamrocks won by a set and slipped past the Lancers 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Shamrocks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Berrien Springs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 15-5.

Their offense was headlined by Zion Ellis and Kathryn Bergan, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Vivienne Kittleson and her 18 assists. Bergan also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Dylan Rospierski, each putting up two.

Berrien Springs' win bumped their record up to 18-16-4. As for Lakeshore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

Berrien Springs will head out to square off against Brandywine at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeshore has already played their next matchup (against Dowagiac), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
