Basketball Game Preview: McClatchy Lions vs. Windward Wildcats

The McClatchy Lions and the Windward Wildcats will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. McClatchy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Windward likes a good challenge.

McClatchy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Clovis, who was ranked seventh at the time (McClatchy was ranked tenth). McClatchy strolled past Clovis with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 73-56. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Windward wrapped up 2024 with a 50-35 win over Kamehameha Kapalama.

Windward's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for McClatchy, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

McClatchy came up short against Windward in their previous matchup back in March of 2017, falling 53-41. Can McClatchy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
