Covington Catholic entered their tilt with Beechwood on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They snuck past the Beechwood Tigers with a 62-58 win. Given the Colonels' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Tigers are ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Covington Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Beechwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Covington Catholic is taking a road trip to challenge Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
