Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is University's Fifth in Last Six Outings

University barely beat Olympia the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. University's pitchers stepped up to hand Olympia an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. University might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Addison Pertler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Nina Rios-Cruz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympia only posted a batting average of .067.

University is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Olympia, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither University nor Olympia have any future games scheduled.
