Baseball Game Preview: Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans vs. La Mirada Matadores

The Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans will face off against the La Mirada Matadores at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Wesleyan Christian Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 10, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 12-1 to Stony Brook. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wesleyan Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Goff, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Goff hit this season.

Meanwhile, La Mirada is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Poly Prep Country Day. The Matadores came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 6-2.

The team relied heavily on Froy Serna, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Nunez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

La Mirada's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
