Basketball Recap: Friona Comes Up Short

Friona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 44-37 to the Smyer Bobcats. The Chieftans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Friona's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Smyer, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing West Texas T the next time they take the court. Friona will head out to face West Texas T at 10:20 a.m. on Friday, while Smyer will play them later in the day, at 8:00 a.m.
