Softball Recap: Lunenburg Takes a Loss

If Lunenburg was riding high fresh off their 16-7 takedown of Auburn on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Knights came up short against the Leominster Blue Devils on Friday, falling 12-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Knights of the 11-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Lunenburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Heather Lombardo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lunenburg's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Leominster, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lunenburg will host Clinton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Leominster, they will take on Westborough at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
