Basketball Game Preview: Leavitt Hornets vs. Oak Hill Raiders

The Leavitt Hornets will take on the Oak Hill Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Oak Hill is facing Leavitt at the wrong time: Leavitt suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They came up short against the Mariners, falling 61-39. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Mariners are ranked seventh).

Meanwhile, Oak Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Spruce Mountain, falling 64-35.

Leavitt's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Oak Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Everything went Leavitt's way against Oak Hill when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Leavitt made off with a 49-28 victory. Does Leavitt have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oak Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
