Basketball Recap: Sophia Faraci Key Part of a Team Effort in Rams Win

Port Chester won the last time they faced Yonkers and things went their way on Friday too. The Port Chester Rams took down the Yonkers Bulldogs 50-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Port Chester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Faraci, who went 9 for 21 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Faraci a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Gagnon, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Port Chester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Port Chester's record is now 10-6. As for Yonkers, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Coming up, Port Chester won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fox Lane at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Yonkers, they will face off against Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
