Basketball Recap: SOPHIA PACK's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mount Hope Christian Academy over Summit Christian Academy

Mount Hope Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Summit Christian Academy Falcons, falling 67-43. The Warriors have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was SOPHIA PACK, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. PACK has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was MCKENNA JONES, who posted six points in addition to six blocks and five assists.

Even though they lost, Mount Hope Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups.

Summit Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Ella Botts, who went 14 for 21 to rack up 31 points along with seven assists and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Botts has scored at least a third of Summit Christian Academy's points. Bailee Martin was another key player, going 6 of 15 on her way to 22 points and three steals.

Mount Hope Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Summit Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Mount Hope Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 73-32 win against Calvary Baptist Academy on the 30th. As for Summit Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-42 victory against Grace Christian on the 31st.
