Basketball Recap: Andrews Comes Up Short

Andrews lost against Fort Stockton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Andrews Mustangs took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Stockton Panthers. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fort Stockton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Cordero, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Aundre Washington, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Fort Stockton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Andrews will head out to challenge Monahans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrews is facing Monahans at the right time seeing as Monahans is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Fort Stockton, they will be playing at home against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Stockton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season.
