Steele took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Clark, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Cougars 2-1. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Max Watson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Steele saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaeleb Galindo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Steele is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clark, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

As of now, neither Steele nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
