After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Independence, Independent was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They slipped by the Kingman Eagles 40-39. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Independent's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-9-1. As for Kingman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independent will square off against Wamego on Monday. As for Kingman, they will face off against Nickerson on Monday. Kingman is facing Nickerson at the right time seeing as Nickerson is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
