Smoky Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Larned Indians. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Smoky Valley took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14.

Kamryn Ryan paced Smoky Valley's offense, picking up six kills. Ryan got some help from Ceeley Friesen and her ten assists. Friesen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Smoky Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Hillsboro on the 30th. As for Larned, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Halstead on the 30th.
