Baseball Recap: Spurger Comes Up Short

Spurger fell victim to Evadale and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 9-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Spurger is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3. As for Evadale, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Spurger will challenge rival Deweyville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Evadale is set to square off against their familiar foe Big Sandy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
