It was a good run, but Gonzales unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 31-14 to the Navarro Panthers. If the Apaches were looking for revenge after losing 34-23 to the Panthers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gonzales' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Navarro, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gonzales will challenge rival Wimberley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Navarro is set to take on their familiar foe Smithville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
