After only two runs in their last contest, Lawton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hackett Catholic Prep on Tuesday. The Blue Devils blew past the Fighting Irish 13-1. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Paityn Beam made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Lily McCory was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. Kaidence Beam was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Lawton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Lawton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Hackett Catholic Prep, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.

Coming up, Lawton will venture away from home to square off against Gobles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 12.6 runs per game this season. As for Hackett Catholic Prep, they will host Eau Claire at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
