Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Prep Saints vs. Orangewood Christian Rams

Trinity Prep is 2-8 against Orangewood Christian since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Trinity Prep will head out to take on Orangewood Christian at 6:30 p.m. Trinity Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

On Monday, Trinity Prep got the win against Circle Christian by a conclusive 13-3. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Armando Ros and Matias Morales did most of the damage at the plate: Ros scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Morales went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The dominant performance also gave Ros a new career-high in RBI (three). Alton Gunther was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Trinity Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Orangewood Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Dr. Phillips 4-3 on Friday.

Orangewood Christian let Tre Roach and Sam Lambert run wild. Roach scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Lambert scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Trinity Prep pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Orangewood Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Trinity Prep beat Orangewood Christian 9-5 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
