Softball Recap: Summit Wins Going Away Against Bloomington

Summit won the last time they faced Bloomington and things went their way on Monday too. The SkyHawks blew past the Bruins 16-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the SkyHawks.

Jysel Guerrero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alani Lopez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Arianna Munoz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Summit now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Bloomington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Summit will head out on the road to take on Kaiser at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bloomington, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against San Gorgonio at 3:00 p.m. The Bruins are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
