Baseball Recap: Mona Shores Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Mona Shores won the last time they faced Hastings and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Sailors blew past the Saxons 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Sailors, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Julian Thielbar tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trevor Cunningham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Mona Shores was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hastings only posted a batting average of .000.

Mona Shores' win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2. As for Hastings, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
