Volleyball Recap: Little Chute Mustangs vs. Oconto Falls Panthers
If Little Chute was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Marinette on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Oconto Falls Panthers on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-14.
Audrey Butkovich paced Little Chute's offense, picking up six kills. Butkovich got some help from Leah Vanden Hogen and her 21 assists. Vanden Hogen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Oconto Falls can attribute much of their success to Rylie Shallow, who had 15 digs and four assists. Shallow is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Little Chute's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Oconto Falls, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-5.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Little Chute is set to challenge their familiar foe Waupaca at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Oconto Falls will take on rival Luxemburg-Casco at 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
