Basketball Game Preview: Emerald Ridge Jaguars vs. Sumner Spartans

Emerald Ridge is 1-9 against Sumner since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Emerald Ridge Jaguars will welcome the Sumner Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sumner will be up against a hot Emerald Ridge squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Emerald Ridge blew past South Kitsap, posting a 67-27 win. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Wolves are ranked 213th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sumner entered their tilt with Curtis on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed by the Vikings to the tune of 67-20.

Sumner's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Emerald Ridge, they have also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
