Softball Recap: Caldwell Comes Up Short

If Caldwell was feeling good fresh off their 26-2 takedown of Columbia last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars came up short against the Boise Brave on Saturday, falling 15-5. The Cougars have struggled against the Brave recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Kloe Fogle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Rylie Felton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Boise, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Looking ahead, Caldwell will square off against Bishop Kelly at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Boise, they will challenge Capital at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Brave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
