A Season-Best Performance from Dax Varnadore Leads Fort Payne over Gadsden City

On Friday, Fort Payne got the W thanks in part to Dax Varnadore playing the best football he has all season. Varnadore threw for 144 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Varnadore might have his next game, a road matchup with Hazel Green, circled on his calendar. Varnadore threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground the last time he and the Trojans duked it out back in October of 2023.

Tinker must have Gadsden City's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Tinker last faced the Titans back in September of 2023, he made 16 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Big Game from Landrum As Buckhorn Fell 36-21

While Buckhorn might've come up empty on Friday, Shamarion Landrum wasn't going down without a fight. Southside had no answer to Landrum as he rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Buckhorn now has a losing record at 3-4. Landrum and Buckhorn will face off against Mae Jemison on Thursday.
