Basketball Recap: Grundy County Takes a Loss

Grundy County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 45-38 to the Brashear Tigers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Grundy County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Brashear, they pushed their record up to 5-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Grundy County Panthers challenge the Mercer Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Brashear has already played their next match, a 45-38 victory against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris on the 17th.
