Softball Game Preview: Tehachapi Warriors vs. Stockdale Mustangs

The Tehachapi Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Stockdale Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Tehachapi was able to grind out a solid win over Taft, taking the game 5-1.

Cadence McIrvin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tehachapi let Mya Gil and Kayden Grigsby run wild. Gil went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Grigsby went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave Gil a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of McIrvin Aidan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Stockdale beat Frontier 5-1 on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Stockdale's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Tehachapi, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6-1.
