Basketball Recap: Torrington Christian Academy vs. The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers
Torrington Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Pilgrim Academy.
Ayden Miller was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds for The Pilgrim Academy. Miller has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Monroe, who scored four points along with four steals and four blocks.
Torrington Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for The Pilgrim Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Torrington Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The Pilgrim Academy and the Cougars will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Averaging 62 points so far this season, Atlantic Christian's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Pioneers better be ready for a challenge.
