Northwest Rankin had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Oak Grove Warriors 1-0. The Cougars wouldn't have won without Daniel Sherman, who scored the game-winner.

Northwest Rankin is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight matchups. As for Oak Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
