Mt. Vernon took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They skirted past the Delta Eagles 1-0. The Marauders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Not much got past Andrew Boldt, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Delta off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryker Baer, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Mt. Vernon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
