Softball Game Preview: Ocean View Seahawks vs. Kennedy Fighting Irish

Ocean View is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will host the Kennedy Fighting Irish at 3:15 p.m. Ocean View is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Ocean View came up short against Garden Grove on Friday, falling 15-7.

Mackenna King made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy). They put the hurt on Segerstrom with a sharp 14-6 victory on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Fighting Irish considering their two-run performance the game before.

Katie Torrez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sydney Batalon, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ocean View's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Kennedy, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
