Football Recap: South Eugene Comes Up Short

South Eugene lost against Crescent Valley back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Axe were dealt a 36-8 loss at the hands of the Raiders.

South Eugene didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Rocco Higbee, Elijah Gabriel, and Asher Turnbull picked up one apiece.

Crescent Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Pannebaker out in front who rushed for 49 yards and two TDs. Another rusher making a difference was Carlos Ochoa, who rushed for 17 yards and a pair of scores.

South Eugene's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Crescent Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

South Eugene didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-6 loss against Eagle Point on the 3rd. As for Crescent Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 20-15 victory against Philomath on the 3rd.
