Football Recap: South Eugene Comes Up Short

South Eugene lost against Crescent Valley back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Axe were dealt a 36-8 defeat at the hands of the Raiders.

South Eugene didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Rocco Higbee, Elijah Gabriel, and Asher Turnbull picked up one apiece.

South Eugene's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Crescent Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Coming up, South Eugene will venture away from home to challenge Eagle Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Axe will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Crescent Valley, they will take on Philomath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Raiders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
