South Gallia's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wellston Golden Rockets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rebels have posted since August 27, 2024.

South Gallia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 20-25, 25-14, 25-19, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Wellston had strong showings from Brittany Barnett, who had ten digs, and Abrielle Weese, who had three digs.

The victory got South Gallia back to even at 1-1. As for Wellston, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

South Gallia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against East on the 21st. As for Wellston, they will head out to challenge Alexander at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Golden Rockets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
