Volleyball Recap: Delta Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fortune Early College on Monday, Delta came back down to earth. The Saints came up short against the Leroy Greene Academy Lions on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-8.

Leroy Greene Academy found their leader in sophomore Irene Aceves, who had 11 digs and two aces. Aceves has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Delta's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Leroy Greene Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Delta is set to challenge their familiar foe Elite at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Leroy Greene Academy will face off against rival Creative Connections Arts Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
