Soccer Game Preview: Fluvanna County vs. Goochland

The Fluvanna County Flying Flucos will challenge the Goochland Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Goochland took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fluvanna County, who comes in off a win.

While Fluvanna County's win against Louisa County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Flying Flucos beat the Lions by a goal, winning 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for Fluvanna County as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Goochland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Orange County, falling 5-0. That's two games in a row now that Goochland have lost by exactly five goals.

Goochland's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fluvanna County, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-5-1.

Fluvanna County might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Goochland when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Flying Flucos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
