Basketball Game Preview: Edna Karr Cougars vs. Slidell Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Edna Karr Cougars face off against the Slidell Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Edna Karr is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.

Slidell is hoping to do what Peabody couldn't last Saturday: put an end to Edna Karr's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Edna Karr walked away with a 50-43 win over Peabody.

Sanaa Bean and Cass Antoine were among the main playmakers for Edna Karr as the former posted 16 points and the latter earned 13 points. Bean continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Recasnner, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, Slidell came into Monday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Phoenix, posting a 57-27 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Edna Karr's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Slidell, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
