Baseball Game Preview: Lewis County Panthers vs. Summertown Eagles

For the second straight game, Lewis County will face off against Summertown. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lewis County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Summertown, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's contest. The Panthers never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

The result came thanks to Steele Moseley's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Whitlow, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Lewis County is 3-1 when Whitlow posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Brycen McDonald was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Lewis County pushed their record up to 13-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Summertown, they moved to 17-7 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
