Northfield's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Denver North 36-0. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Vikings are ranked 140th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Aurora Central played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 37-14 to Thomas Jefferson. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.
