Recap: Dillon Wildcats vs. Lake View Wild Gators

After a string of three wins, the Dillon Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake View. Dillon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lake View apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Dillon saw an underclassman step up: Treasure Davis scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Davis' eighth in a row with at least ten points.

Dillon struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Lake View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gwendasia Page led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Page has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Jaleya Ford was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds.

Dillon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Lake View, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Dillon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Red Springs at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Red Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 426th in North Carolina, while Dillon is ranked 74th in South Carolina). As for Lake View, they will head out on the road to face off against Latta at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Latta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 40 on Wednesday.
