Softball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Amador Valley

Amador Valley lost to Benicia back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Amador Valley Dons came out on top against the Benicia Panthers by a score of 9-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dons.

Amador Valley let McKenna Charbonneau and Mai Falcone run wild. Charbonneau fired off two home runs and four runs while going 3-for-3, while Falcone went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Charbonneau has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lauren Tran, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Amador Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benicia only managed eight hits.

Amador Valley's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Benicia, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Coming up, Amador Valley will venture away from home to take on Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Castro Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Amador Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Benicia, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Benicia Panthers challenge Cardinal Newman Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
