Basketball Recap: Junction Takes a Loss

Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Goldthwaite Eagles 60-30. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Junction this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-24 back in December of 2024.

Catalina Salinas and Marilyn Martinez certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Salinas posted 16 points and seven steals, while Martinez almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Martinez has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played.

Junction's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Goldthwaite, they pushed their record up to 21-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Junction wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 40-35 defeat against Johnson City on the 24th. As for Goldthwaite, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 45-38 win against Harper on the 24th.
