Basketball Game Preview: Eastside Blazers vs. Whitko Wildcats

The Eastside Blazers will challenge the Whitko Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Eastside will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Eastside is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Andrean by a score of 39-27. Given the Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Fighting 59ers are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Whitko challenged Bremen on Saturday. Whitko walked away with a 53-44 win over Bremen. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Eastside better focus on containing Jayma Stonebraker and Reese Stonebraker as the pair were huge in Whitko's win. Jayma went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Reese went 5-for-12 on her way to 14 points and seven boards. Reese has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hazel Leffers, who posted six points and three steals.

Whitko's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Eastside, their win bumped their record up to 25-1.
