Baseball Recap: The Colony Has No Trouble Against North Forney

The Colony posted their biggest victory since April 19, 2024 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the North Forney Falcons as The Colony Cougars made off with an 11-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Manuel Navarrette looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because The Colony is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, The Colony let Caleb Adams and Josiah Rojas run wild. Adams went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Rojas scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave Adams a new career-high. Sean Keenen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The Colony hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

The Colony's record now sits at 4-2. As for North Forney, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, The Colony and North Forney will both be playing Ennis the next time they take the field. The Colony will head out to face Ennis at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, while North Forney will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
