Basketball Recap: AJ Scheifley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Antietam over Schuylkill Valley

Antietam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 77-65 to the Schuylkill Valley Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mountaineers of the 51-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Antietam's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Scheifley, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 22 points. Josiah Maradey was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 13 points.

Antietam now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Schuylkill Valley, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Antietam will welcome Hamburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Schuylkill Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Tulpehocken at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
