The Walled Lake Western Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Milford Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milford took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Walled Lake Western, who comes in off a win.
Walled Lake Western's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Kettering 17-0. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Captains recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Maddie Farrand was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Farrand was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Sierra Geisler was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddi Bancroft, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Walled Lake Western hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while it was Milford who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Bloomfield Hills who put up more. The Mavericks fell just short of the Black Hawks by a score of 12-11. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hana Scripture was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Elkins, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Walled Lake Western's record is now 8-19. As for Milford, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Walled Lake Western hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Walled Lake Western couldn't quite finish off Milford in their previous meeting last Tuesday and fell 9-7. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
