Soccer Game Preview: Verrado vs. Centennial

The Verrado Vipers will take on the Centennial Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Centennial will be up against a hot Verrado squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Verrado's defense stepped up to hand North Canyon a 6-0 shutout on Thursday.

Verrado's offense was hitting North Canyon from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, on FridayLake Havasu kept up with Centennial until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Centennial blew past Lake Havasu 5-2. That's two games straight that the Coyotes have won by exactly three goals.

Centennial used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Lake Havasu. Keira Gonzales played for 90 minutes having averaged 57.1 this season. She made the most of the opportunity, scoring three goals and one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Verrado's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three games. As for Centennial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-8-3.
