Basketball Recap: Telfair County Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Telfair County walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Bowdon Red Devils 52-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2018.

Telfair County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty'Teionna Jones led the charge by going 8-for-11 on her way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Jones continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ty'Kristiany Jones was another key player, going 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points and four steals.

Telfair County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points over those games. Bowdon's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.

Coming up, Telfair County will challenge Washington-Wilkes on Tuesday. Washington-Wilkes will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Telfair County surely won't give up without a fight. Bowdon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
